Mario Negri Research Institute- Urban design plan, Milan 1985
The plan, approved and adopted by the City of Milan, resolved the need for the enlargement of the Institute's research activities with a rational design of the new volumes and free spaces, assigned to green areas and underground parking. The planimetric configuration of the new buildings, with the functions of laboratories, research and services, tends to conserve the character of the existing ones, articulating itself over the area to define squares, functional spaces and vehicular circulation. Low and high volumes are alternated in order to balance the relationship with the existing buildings and the best sun exposure.
