Competition
sponsored by Rima pubblications for built projects with
innovative character in the residential field. The
presented design, which received a mention and a special
award from the jury, consisted in the adaptive reuse of an
interesting open plan space of 260 sq. mt., originally
used as warehouse. The intervention, a sort of laboratory
/ residence, allowed for a functional use of the space,
maintaining however the perception of the existing
volumes. The big square room has two levels toward the
courtyard and is at full height on the opposite side. The
private mezzanine floor is used for the double bedroom,
linked to the bathroom by a balcony bridge cantilevered
over the living room/study and over the dining room at the
opposite side. The project has been purposely built with
few walls, steel structures and polished glass panels.
