Mario Negri Research Institute- Valenti Tower addition, Milan 1985

The addition consists in a new 6-storey building, which houses pharmacological research laboratories. The "tower" typology was derived principally from the limits imposed by vehicular circulation inside the area and by the shape of the area adjacent to the existing linear building. The design choice, given the volumetric fracture caused by the verticality of the new building, was to reinforce the formal continuity with the existing, through alignments and the reuse of colors and materials, in order to obtain an unitary look for the complex
